We strongly believe that community participation is a prerequisite to greater ownership and sustainability. Our programs have direct involvement of the target groups as well as local governments from the stage of planning, resource allocation, implementation and evaluation. This ensures that the real and local needs of the community are met and the change is sustained.
Cost-sharing is a testament to the level the communities are willing to participate. The Provincial Government, local governments and KFN contribute one-third each to the program costs for the first two years. This is followed by 50-50 cost sharing between the provincial and local governments as KFN exits from the community.
